Lauren Klein and Milo Tamez’s collaboration began in November 2017, CDMX. It raised from a dialog about living-sound resonance depicted in Klein’s canvases. Klein’s study of sonic energy movement, through verbal and visual language, was realized to be a resonant harmonic of Tamez’ theory of Percussiveness, and vice versa.
Fields is a research and expereimental, evolving expression of molecular movement of emotional and sound energy. Isn’t this, after all, the beginning of every technology? A desire, an electromagnetic, toroidal pulse around the heart and body of a living being … that beat which extends to and surrounds every living creature while residing in the center as well. We see science and physics as expressly neutral, non-human, non-emotional….but it depends on what you think an emotion is. As an expression of the universe, there is always positive and negative, attraction and repulsion.
The FEILD that is created playing percussion and the dynamic, activated actual space between the painter and the canvas creates a third entity - the Field. FIELDS presents Lauren´s field-canvases in a sculptural, multidimensional playground environment which is enveloped by a score created from re-synthesized musical instrumental interpretations of Lauren´s paintings. Induced and carefully re-composed for multichannel sound system and instrumental ensemble by Milo Tamez. FIELDS is an idea of composing based on one initial impact, one BANG and ¨an out of time¨, expanded sound painting/composition that expresses the Wave impacting and moving over objects, absorbing, reflecting, changes of density over time and distance.
